1973 BMW R-Series

I have owned a number of /5 and /6 BMWs and love them for their styling, rideability and mechanical simplicity.  The short wheel base model with original paint and a toaster tank has always been my favorite configuration. (see finecollectiblemotorcycles.com).
This is a wonderfully original and mechanically excellent 1973 BMW R75/5 short wheel base (SWB) model with toaster tank.  This bike is in amazing condition, starts easy by kick or electric, everything works; lights, blinkers, horn, speedometer and tachometer.  It runs and rides beautifully (pure joy, that air-cooled boxer motor).  The drum brakes are in perfect adjustment and the clutch action is smooth and remarkably easy.
Original paint is bright with virtually no patina and no dents on the super clean tank. A couple of nicks shown on the front and rear fenders.  Fresh Continental tires, new Flanders handlebars and a gorgeous reproduction seat (made in Germany).  The original seat, upright handlebars, a spare rear fender and set of rear shock absorbers is included in the sale.
I have decided to sell this one from my private collection as I will be travelling extensively during the next year.
